Department Overview:
The Office of Online & Professional Learning Resources (OPLR) works in partnership with all 13 UW universities to develop and deliver online semester- and competency-based degrees and a broad array of credit and non-credit certificates, courses, and other credentials to help adult and professional learners achieve their academic and professional development goals and to develop the workforce of Wisconsin.
Anticipated Hours Per Week
10 to 20Schedule:
Flexible hours based on your schedule.
- Ability to work any number of hours between 7:30am – 6:00pm Monday - Friday.
- Availability of 10 - 20 hours a week required during Fall and Spring semesters
- Year-round availability is preferred but not required.
Salary/Wage Range:
Hourly $15.00 to $15.00Number Of Positions
1Position Summary/Job Duties:
The Office of Online & Professional Learning Resources (OPLR) is seeking a student to assist with various support-related services for online students, primarily services related to student recruitment & enrollment. This position offers flexible hours and competitive wages. We offer an opportunity to gain professional-level work within Higher Education. We are happy to coordinate information interviews to help you learn about career options within Higher Education and further develop your skillset.
Major Responsibilities
- Communicating with prospective students to answer basic questions via phone and email
- Schedule advising appointments
- Create and edit forms, documents, and templates
- Data entry; Proofing and cross-referencing data
- Updating CRM Salesforce
- Research and other general office duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Good organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Skilled in typing, data entry
- Attention to detail
- Ability to apply judgment and analysis to work performed
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
A good candidate for the Student Recruitment & Enrollment Assistant position must have the following skills and abilities:
- Communicating effectively through phone and email.
- Inspiring confidence in others
- Efficient time management
- Driven to achieve individual and departmental goals
- Ability to learn the use of software such as: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and our CRM - Salesforce
- Must be self-driven and willing to work independently
- Must be an enrolled technical, undergraduate or graduate student
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior office and/or data entry experience
