Akron General’s Cardiovascular Intervention Care Unit (CVICU) offers medical attention for various conditions and diagnoses, including acute myocardial infarctions, cardiogenic shock, severe coronary artery disease and other conditions. As an RN serving these patients, you will ensure they feel comfortable and safe throughout treatment. This position offers you an opportunity to enhance your critical care, trauma and CRRT dialysis knowledge while making a difference in the lives of everyone you meet every day.

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM - 7:30PM, including every other weekend and 3 holidays per year. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Provide direct nursing care. 

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a given patient population. 

• Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.  

• Develop and update goals and involve patients and families in developing plans of care. 

• Coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care and serve as a patient advocate.  

• Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medication and document.  

• Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes, contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process.
