We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst with a Security Emphasis to lead the development and implementation of our critical software platform. This role is responsible for managing project timelines, ensuring security considerations are embedded throughout the process, and coordinating closely with subject matter experts and the software development team. 

The successful candidate will leverage strong analytical abilities and exceptional communication skills to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, defining project requirements and supporting platform development from concept through delivery. This position requires the ability to break down complex business and technical concepts into clear, accessible language for diverse audiences, while influencing decisions across business and engineering teams.

This is a hybrid opportunity and Energy Solutions has offices in  six different locations. Employees who reside within 40 miles of an office (except New York) will be assigned to that location, though in-office attendance requirements may vary by team. At this time, we are not accepting applications from candidates residing in the following states: Delaware, Kentucky, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Wyoming.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • With minimal guidance, lead collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to understand, document, and articulate business needs. 
  • Partner with energy efficiency domain experts and the software development team to design secure, innovative solutions for complex technical challenges. 
  • Participate in and lead product prototyping and proof-of-concept initiatives to validate business and technical requirements. 
  • Prepare clear, detailed, and well-documented functional specifications, workflows, and process diagrams for new features and system enhancements. 
  • Analyze existing business processes, identify areas for improvement, and recommend enhancements aligned with business goals and software architecture best practices. 
  • Own, refine, and manage user stories and epics in Jira, ensuring traceability from requirements to delivery. 
  • Communicate effectively through meeting minutes, written reports, follow-up communications, and presentations tailored to diverse audiences. 
  • Manage project timelines, monitor progress, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders and leadership. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and 3 years of experience in a similar technical discipline, or, at least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst / equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in Agile software development life cycle  
  • Good technical analyst skills translating business needs into technical specifications  
  • Strong communication skills – especially adept at communicating effectively between non-technical users and technical software developers  

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Software development experience 
  • Python/Django and API development experience a plus 
  • Energy related professional experience is a plus
  • NIST and SOC2 Compliance experience 

 

 

Compensation to commensurate with experience with the pay band of  $92,000 to $120,000/Annually 

Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a generous retirement package. Energy Solutions provides an excellent benefits package including medical, dental and vision insurance, other pre-tax contribution plans and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
