Job Description
Responsibilities:
Lead financial planning, forecasting, and analysis across a global, multi-entity IT organisation, ensuring strategic alignment and operational excellence
Act as a trusted business partner to senior stakeholders, driving financial transparency and influencing decision-making across functions
Negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to optimise cost structures and ensure value delivery
Identify financial risks and opportunities, proactively recommend mitigation strategies, and follow through to resolution
Educate and guide business partners on financial processes, ensuring compliance with internal policies and standard operating procedures
Deliver insightful ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic decisions and resource allocation
Manage the full budgeting and latest forecast cycles for cost centres and service areas, ensuring accuracy and relevance
Lead productivity and cost-saving initiatives, including insourcing strategies and location optimisation to maximise efficiency
Ensure adherence to Novartis Accounting Manual and global financial regulations, identifying and implementing process improvements
Provide leadership across complex, cross-functional projects, supporting change management and driving continuous improvement within the finance function
Essential for the role:
Master’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or a related business discipline
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in financial controlling, planning & analysis, and reporting within a global organisation
Proven ability to lead complex financial projects and drive strategic initiatives across multiple geographies
Demonstrated success in business partnering, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
High proficiency in English and ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional environment
Desirable for the role:
Experience in strategy implementation and business process development within a global IT or pharmaceutical environment
Digitally savvy, with familiarity in Power BI or similar data visualisation tools, and an interest in using AI solutions like Copilot to enhance financial insights and drive productivity
