Sr. Product Manager Technical, Semantic Scholar (Data Platform)

Who We Are:

Semantic Scholar is a free, A.I.-powered research tool for scientific literature. We have grown from a groundbreaking research project at the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence to a tool millions of scholars use every week. Our mission is to empower scholars with easy access to the most relevant information from the world's scientific literature. Our work has been featured in the New York Times, Wired, Nature, Science, and many other publications.

Who You Are:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager Technical to own our data acquisition pipeline which currently processes, normalizes, and indexes over 210 million papers, using 20+ custom machine learning models. Data quality is the foundation of our product and we are looking for an experienced product manager with strong technical and analytical skills to drive the roadmap in this area. You will work directly with the other product managers on the team (Web Application, Semantic Scholar Public API, and Semantic Reader) to understand internal and external user needs, and how our data pipeline projects can address these user needs. You will also own projects that productionalize ML models that are developed by our Research team as we scale these research prototypes to our end users. You will create business requirements and own the roadmap for an engineering team dedicated to our back-end products.

This is a new role on our team and is ideal for someone who is very collaborative, analytical, detail oriented, scrappy, and able to deal with ambiguity. We are looking for someone looking to roll up their sleeves and wear a lot of different hats in order to drive impact. This role sits on the Semantic Scholar Product team. In addition to working with our world class engineering and research teams, you will have support from other Product Managers and UX Research to help drive your roadmap. If your ambition is to join a mission-driven team working at the cutting edge of product and technology, Semantic Scholar may be the perfect opportunity for you.
