Production Support Advisor

What does a successful Production Support Advisor do at Fiserv?

As a part of the North Front End Production Support Team, you will be responsible for 24x7 support and monitoring for applications that authorize and settle credit, debit, check and prepaid transactions. You will also provide day-to-day support to our clients (merchants, gateways, vendors) when issues are encountered in the production environment.  This position is great for someone who loves to learn, has great technical skills, enjoys solving puzzles and likes a challenge.

What you will do:

• Provide production support in the Cards and Payments domain using AIX operating systems
• Develop UNIX Shell scripts for monitoring and reporting
• Monitor applications using AIX operating system with UNIX, C Programming, and SPLUNK
• Assist merchants, gateways and vendors when troubleshooting issues and implementing new functionality in production
• Provide guidance to new merchants going live with the latest software application
• Implement change records and analyzes incident records to provide responses within contractual SLA’s
• Research and troubleshoot incident records assigned via Service Point, based on priority and severity
• Work as part of a team to provide shift coverage on a rotational basis.  Shifts include weekends

What you will need to have:

• 6+ years of experience in a 24x7 production support experience in a financially impactful environment
• 6+ years of experience in Windows, Linux or AIX environment
• 6+ years of experience writing UNIX Shell scripts 
• 6+ years of experience creating awk and shell scripts
• 4+ years of experience writing Splunk queries
• 4+ years of experience in incident, change and problem management
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience  

What would be great to have:

• Knowledge of ISO 8583 message standards and regulations.
• Experience reading TCP/IP traces
• Experience in Card and Payments domains
