About the Role
The Logistics Specialist Lead will be responsible for all logistics interactions for a brand of seed delivery for geographic region. This includes customer calls, customer call documentation, scheduling carrier, solving carrier issues, being a liaison with Customer Operations, date changes and updating system with timely accurate information. This position will work onsite at our customer location in St. Louis, MO in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Role will review optimizations provided by customer’s TMS system and shipping strategy to ensure all constraints are met for customer delivery.
- Load Planning for Warehouse with 20+ Truckloads of multiple orders a day.
- Responsible to use current carrier base supplied by shipper for most efficient method that delivers on time results to customers.
- Contact customers and document in appropriate CRM system with current notes on every delivery and update changes to shipments in system.
- Communicate to resolve issues and meet shipping targets with Customer Service, Warehouse Operations, Shipper’s Management Team and end Customer.
- Balance workload sent to warehouse using client’s dock scheduling tool, coordinating with other teams shipping into and outbound of the facility.
- Provide timely communication to appropriate parties as delivery is scheduled and/or issues occur with shipment.
- Ensure proof of delivery is received for all deliveries and collect bill of ladings from carriers.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 3+ years of Carrier Dispatch Experience
Preferred Qualifications
- BA Degree in Supply Chain Logistics
- 2+ years of experience in Transportation/Logistics
- 1+ years of experience in the Agriculture industry
- Prior working experience with Bayer a plus
- Working Knowledge and Utilization of the appropriate transportation management system
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office
