High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

 

Additional requirements:

  • Experience utilizing, maintaining, and analyzing data.
  • Experience with data reconciliation.
  • Experience working with Governmental accounting records.
  • Experience analyzing information in a structured format, utilizing traditional and/or computer-based tools for data analysis.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications. (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

 

Preferences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other business Major.
  • Two (2) or more years of professional accounting experience.
  • Experience with preparing or reviewing Financial Statements.

 

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Knowledge of accounting systems. Knowledge of internal control concepts. Knowledge of the methods of compiling and analyzing data. Knowledge of supervisory and administrative principles and practices.

 

Possess technical knowledge with the ability to process queries and the ability to apply deep analytical thinking to solve complex and abstract problems. Ability to research and interpret accounting literature, rules, and pronouncements. Ability to understand, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Ability to conduct fact-finding research. Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques. Ability to investigate, review, analyze, and evaluate data. Ability to plan and direct program activities. Ability to process and organize information logically. Ability to develop and conduct training programs. Ability to analyze and document workflow and implement changes. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to work independently. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. 

 

SPECIAL NOTES:

This is an in-office Monday through Friday, 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week position with no telework offered.

 

This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

 

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

This is a professional position. It includes responsibilities linked to procedures adopted by the Department, the Division, and the Bureau. The Procedures are of the internal control structure used to provide reasonable assurance that objectives are met. This position shall use, comply with, and if needed, improve these controls and suggest updates to the procedures in the performance of duties.
