Responsibilities:
Ensure injection molding, extrusion, and pad printing perform to defined standards of output and scrap.
Drive adaptation of deployed automation to achieve desired cost savings from projects.
Solve manufacturing problems at LPMS II level.
Coordinate development of optimal process parameters and monitor conformance.
Lead problem solving by assembling both internal and external resources.
Train production and processing team and ensure ongoing development.
Establish and document standard processes.
Manage equipment related projects and ensure proper condition of the molding machines and molds.
Support production/tooling/maintenance teams with trouble-shooting issues with the goal of reducing overall scrap (Pareto & Deep Dive Analysis).
Act with sense of urgency in terminating sub optimal temporary alternate processes.
Process improvement of all other processes (pad printing and other manufacturing processes as needed).
Work with Manufacturing R&D to push necessary changes to optimize all manufacturing processes in the Aurora operation.
Participate, drive, and standardize mold design optimization through preliminary mold design reviews with R&D.
Interface, assist, and communicate equipment and mold related issues to maintenance and the tool department.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
5+ relevant years of experience in plastics processing.
Hands on experience with injection molding, extrusion process, dies, molds, and machines. Scientific Molding knowledge a plus.
Basic robotic programming.
Experience implementing DOE’s (Design of Experiments).
Prior leadership experience (this person will manage a team of approximately 7 Process Technicians/Specialists).
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills - must be able to effectively communicate with own team as well as cross-functionally.
Proven problem solving ability.
General computer skills.
Industrial safety.
