About the role

Description

  

We are seeking an experienced and client-focused Director, Retirement Plan Advisory Services to lead strategic plan consulting and relationship management for a group of the firm’s retirement plan clients. This individual will play a key role in delivering high-level fiduciary guidance, plan design consultation, client service, and business development initiatives to help grow our retirement services practice.


This position offers work from home flexibility of up to 2 days per week after initial orientation period.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead or supporting advisor for a wide range of retirement plan clients (e.g., 401(k), 403(b), and non-qualified plans).
  • Provide strategic plan design consulting tailored to meet clients’ objectives and participant outcomes.
  • Deliver ongoing fiduciary education, benchmarking, and regulatory updates to plan sponsors and committees.
  • Develop investment policy, investment line-up, plan design and asset allocation modeling for purposes of achieving the highest standards of fiduciary excellence and results for the firm’s DC retirement plan sponsor clients
  • Monitor and analyze investment performance for purposes of providing consultation and expert advice to clients
  • Conduct comprehensive plan reviews including fiduciary initiatives, investment due diligence, plan benchmarking, and fee benchmarking.
  • Collaborate with the firm’s Investment Office, record keepers, and third-party administrators (TPAs), among other partners, to deliver integrated client solutions.
  • Provide summary analysis to other consultants
  • Coordinate and finalize client meeting materials
  • Review and finalize client quarterly evaluation reports 
  • Contribute to business development efforts through sourcing, completing RFP responses and attending finalist presentations.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, thought leadership, and consistent value delivery.
  • Stay abreast of ERISA regulations, DOL updates, and industry trends to ensure compliance and innovation in client service.
  • Represent the firm at conferences, webinars, and industry events as a subject matter expert.
  • Conduct participant education in a variety of ways dependent upon client preferences.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  

Essential skills and experience:

  • Master’s Degree, Retirement industry designations preferred
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, or pursuit of a CFP or CFA designation, a plus 
  • 5-10 years of investment-related experience
  • 5-10 years of Client Relationship management experience
  • Ability to work under pressure, organize and manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment where time management, attention to detail, follow-through and meeting deadlines are critical
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
  • General intellectual curiosity, especially about global capital markets
  • Ability to conduct quantitative analysis with a critical eye
  • In-depth understanding of quantitative statistics and methods used to evaluate investment managers along with ability to assess qualitative attributes
  • Comfortable dealing with high-level decision makers
  • High standards of quality, professionalism, and ethics
