Internship Program Overview   

At ServiceNow, we’re looking for students who want to learn, grow, and take a giant step early in their careers, all while making a giant impact. We offer 12-week summer internship opportunities across various business functions.    

Interns will participate in executive speaker series, career development workshops, philanthropic efforts, and team-building activities. Additionally, interns will have access to online learnings and a dedicated summer coach to further grow their careers with us.

Product Team Overview 

We are looking for full-time Masters or MBA students with 3-6 years of work experience to join our Product Management team at ServiceNow. As a Product Manager, you will work on complex high-tech problems by undertaking research, designing, and executing analysis, and helping frame and structure complex problems. You will work closely with other team members and stakeholders to accelerate our impact and directly contribute to our overall business strategy. This is an excellent opportunity if you are looking to get a taste of product management at a high-growth enterprise software company!      

Product Management is a team sport at ServiceNow. We have a unique organization structure in which multiple Product Management roles work together to contribute to a product’s success.   
  
We have two types of Product Managers within our teams: Inbound and Outbound  

We are currently focusing primarily on Inbound Product Manager roles. 

Inbound Product Managers plan for and develop new products and future releases of a product. They gather feedback to determine the problems we're trying to solve, then generate a product roadmap. They work with various teams such as release management, design, and engineering development.  

A few key responsibilities of Inbound PMs include:   

  • Set product vision & strategy  
  • Define the roadmap, requirements & product success metrics  
  • Develop and test innovative product ideas   
  • Work closely with customers to understand their needs and problems to be solved  
  • Own detailed competitive analysis for their feature/product  

Outbound Product Managers enable Go-To-Market teams on product innovation and evangelize the product with customers and partners. Considered the product experts, they generally serve as the bridge between the inbound PM and the product marketing team to ensure the product gets to our customers.   

A few key responsibilities of Outbound PMs include:   

  • Enable our go to market partners  
  • Define pricing & packaging (in collaboration with our pricing team)  
  • Provide best practice content and guidance  
  • Package and deliver in-depth competitive analysis for go to market partners  
  • Drive customer usage and adoption programs  
  • Occasionally provide onboarding and renewal help  

Additional possible responsibilities include: 

  • Support senior program managers and/or product managers across the entire project lifecycle to deliver critical programs for Service Now initiatives.   
  • Work and collaborate directly with Product Managers, Product Design, & Development Teams to build new features and improve adoption on existing features.  
  • Build familiarity with scrum process and willingness to contribute to team deliverables.  
  • Understand product strategy that sets us up for success as we look to grow to $15B+ in revenue. 
  • Research and collect product requirements from key buyer audiences and end-users to determine areas of opportunity for product enhancements. 
  • Oversee the product or project timeline, deadlines, milestones as it is being built by development/engineering and communicate with stakeholders to keep them updated.
