Specifically, we are looking for a TS/SCI cleared COMSEC Administrator - Senior to support this mission at Pope Army AirField.
Responsibilities:
As a COMSEC Administrator - Senior, you will provide technical and management leadership for all equipment and information support functions across the Task Order. Your responsibilities include:
- Plans and leads all COMSEC administration activities for C2ISR network engineering support, ensuring the secure integration and operation of cryptographic systems across the infrastructure.
- Develops and implements COMSEC strategies and procedures that align with comprehensive technical analysis and optimization strategies for complex, mission-critical C2ISR Transport Infrastructure systems.
- Functions as a technical expert in maintaining a robust and resilient communication infrastructure by ensuring optimal COMSEC posture for all cryptographic devices and keying material.
- Ensures compliance with DoDI 8523.01, 'Communications Security (COMSEC),' by managing the secure handling, distribution, safeguarding, and lifecycle of COMSEC materials in accordance with Department of Defense and NSA standards.
- Oversees COMSEC management for maintenance and modernization efforts for significant C5ISRT systems under the JEXC2 portfolio, including all SATCOM assets and ground-based gateways.
- Provides expert guidance to network engineers on advanced COMSEC integration, troubleshooting, and compliance for emerging communication challenges and mission requirements.
- Evaluates the overall effectiveness of COMSEC practices within network engineering, identifying trends, and recommending major changes to enhance cryptographic security and network resilience.
- Mentors and supervises journeyman and junior COMSEC Administrators, fostering skill development and ensuring consistency in COMSEC operational quality and adherence to directives.
- Leads collaboration with key stakeholders, including network engineers and security personnel, to align COMSEC operations with broader network security architectures.
- Develops and refines internal COMSEC training programs tailored for network engineering personnel.
- Manages the documentation lifecycle for critical COMSEC deliverables, including advanced key management plans, cryptographic inventories, and security incident reports.
- Utilize the following Role Specific Tools: EKMS (Electronic Key Management System)
Qualifications
Required qualifications:
- Previous experience as a COMSEC Administrator or similar role supporting a DoD customer at the CCMD level
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience with a BS/BA degree or 4 years’ experience with a MS/MA or 2 years’ experience with a PhD. or 10 years' w/o a degree or 8 with AS/AA degree
- A current, active DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level
- US citizenship is required
- DoD 8140 role for WRC: 451; Element: IT; Work Role: System Administrator; Proficiency Level: Intermediate / Ability to obtain
Desired Qualifications:
- DoD-approved IA baseline certification for ADP-III/IT-III based on the IAT level and CE/Operating System (OS) certificate within six months of the assignment.
Work Environment:
- Location: Pope Army Airfield
- On-site expectations: Full-time on-site presence required for equipment management and asset tracking
- Travel: May require occasional travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites for logistics coordination and facility assessments
