Job Overview:
The Pulmonary Rehab Respiratory Therapist performs a variety of clinical and technical tasks to create and maintain an optimal environment for the testing, training, and education of pulmonary patients. They will serve as an advocate/coach to work with individuals who have or are at risk for pulmonary disease. He/she will use evidence-based practice when providing direct patient care.
- Patient assessment, pulse oximetry, and EKG. These tasks involve the use of equipment to measure and monitor patients. Supports the utilization of criteria-based medicine. Supports a culture of patient safety.
- Deliver Medications; This task involves the delivery of medications via aerosol producing nebulizer and instructing the patient on proper technique. During therapy patient assessment will involve Acquistion of pulse rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and breath sounds with use of stethoscope. Must be able to use the appropriate equipment such as flowmeter, handheld nebulizer, and MDI.
- Performs all functions of the monitoring or floor personnel during patient's exercise session. Documents all pertinent information and relays to appropriate physician under the supervision of one of our nurses.
- Identifies and counsels patients on individual risk factors. Communicates results of evaluations and patient progress to patient, physician, and director. Makes appropriate referrals for additional counseling.

Required: Certifications/Licenses/Experience:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credentials through the NBRC
- Current State credentials for the state you will be practicing in
- BLS (basic life support) required
