Overview:
The CDC Foundation is seeking a Project Coordinator assigned to the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH). This role will be to coordinate COVID-19 surveillance and outbreak detection and response efforts across high-priority settings. It will liaise between the RIDOH Center for the Center for Covid-19 Epidemiology and Infection Control Preventionists, Medical Epidemiologists, data analysts, and RIDOH leadership.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred· Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of infectious disease surveillance, disease transmission, and outbreak response and the ability to apply such knowledge· Ability to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of Covid-19 prevention and mitigation strategies and provide feedback and advice, with input from clinical leads and medical directors· Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, associates, partner organizations, and the general public

Responsibilities:
· Conduct quality case investigation work  · Proactively review case summaries and investigation of positive cases· Review cluster investigations and documentation for accuracy and completeness · Facilitate meetings with internal or external stakeholders upon request· Engage, upon request, with agency partners including infection control and prevention colleagues, agency nurses, and clinical leads from various organizations   · Update templates and resources for Case Investigator reference and usage for internal and external communication  · Mentor new Case Investigators· Lead training for new Case Investigators · Facilitate continuing education training and opportunities  · Lead quality assurance monitoring via the InContact system and initiate coaching of Case Investigators for team, as needed· Serve as a point of contact for case investigation questions and concerns  · Foster ongoing collaboration and camaraderie among case investigators · Perform more difficult and complex epidemiological investigations involved in outreach, monitoring, and engagement of facilities/settings serving special populations (eg, congregate, healthcare, education, business, and government)· Educate communities regarding the guidance and regulations related to COVID-19 infection prevention and control and reporting· Provide support and assistance to community, public, and private agencies in the prevention, identification, and treatment of individuals at risk· Monitor inboxes, triage, and respond to non-clinical outbreak-related questions from facilities· Support the compilation and preparation of outbreak reports using required technology/systems and containing statistical data for surveillance purposes· Maintain confidential records, maintain reports, and provide data as required by the program and related agencies· Confer, consult, and liaise with assigned epidemiologist and nurse on outbreak mitigation issues· Contribute to drafting, revising, and updating protocols· Maintain readiness for surge support to Infoline
