About the role

Description

The Biology Department at Boston College seeks an instructor to teach one or more sections of a course titled “Anatomy and Physiology 2 Laboratory” during the Spring 2025 semester.  This is the second semester of a year-long foundational course that provides hands-on experience to support the learning in the associated lecture course. 

 

There are eight laboratory sections held at the following times:

Monday 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Monday 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

Monday 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Monday 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Wednesday 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Wednesday 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

Wednesday 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Wednesday 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm



Part time faculty receive a competitive salary on a per course basis.   In addition, part time faculty in the Biology Department have shared office space to prepare lectures and meet with students.  Responsibilities include:

 

  • prepare and deliver course lectures at the assigned course time related to the day’s lab

  • supervise the lab environment with support from graduate TAs

  • write and grade examinations and lab assignments (with graduate TA support)

  • be available for 2 office hours per week

  • write letters of recommendation when appropriate

Qualifications

A Ph.D. in an appropriate field of study or a master’s degree from an accredited nursing program is required.
