Your Impact
As a Shop Maintenance Mechanic, you’ll play a critical role in:
- Ensuring all plant equipment is always operating safely and efficiently.
- Championing a robust safety culture throughout the organization.
- Conducting timely repairs based on inspections and proactively addressing maintenance needs.
- Attending and contributing to plant maintenance and safety meetings.
What You’ll Do
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical systems for plants and support facilities.
- Use a full range of tools and equipment—from hand and power tools to hoists, cranes, welding and testing instruments.
- Listen, observe, and troubleshoot equipment issues, collaborating with team members to find and implement solutions.
- Dismantle, repair, and reassemble machinery, replacing defective parts and ensuring precise, reliable operation.
- Clean, lubricate, and maintain plant machinery to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Perform skilled welding and fabrication to repair or enhance equipment.
- Maintain inventory, order essential parts and supplies, and keep accurate maintenance records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, drivers, operators, and customers—both in person and via radio/telephone.
- Assist fellow maintenance staff and help drive overall plant efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience with mechanical and welding tools and procedures.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with an eye for detail and a passion for quality work.
- Physical capability to lift to 100 lbs. occasionally and 50 lbs. frequently; able to work at heights and in varied conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends, and variable shifts as needed.
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints; experience with computers and control panels a plus.
- Dedication to safety in all aspects of the job.

- Mostly outdoor work with exposure to varying weather, noise, vibration, dust, and mechanical hazards.
