Job Description

As a Security Professional - School Patrol - Afternoon Shift in Wilmington, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education and more .

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will play a key role in helping to create a secure and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols throughout the campus, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to any situations that arise. You will also be expected to provide outstanding customer service, assisting individuals with questions and concerns while upholding the values of teamwork, integrity, and a people-first approach. This position requires driving as part of your patrol duties, so a valid driver's license is necessary. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients, students, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for educational environments.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the campus buildings and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or activities.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, hazards, and/or maintenance issues as observed during patrols.
  • Assist with access control procedures and visitor management as required by site-specific policies.
  • Support Allied Universal and campus staff during drills, evacuations, and/or emergency situations as directed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required and must meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
