ESSENTIAL DUTIES / FUNCTIONS

- Participate in the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment. Ability to offer assistance with technical repairs and diagnosis when needed.
- Communicate with all town employees from all departments to field requests for service as well as emergency repairs and situations.
- Performs a variety of duties related to the organizing and maintaining stock of parts and supplies we keep on a regular basis.
- May operate a variety of tools and equipment in or out of the shop to be able to perform job duties. Maintain shop tools and equipment for safe usage. Operate vehicles and equipment in emergency or inclement weather situations.
- Respond to various requests, resolve problems and provide technical assistance to coworkers and other departments, as well as vendors and outside resources.
- Operates & maintains equipment, performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or needed repairs to supervisor.
- Familiar with best safety practices for Fleet employees and regulatory compliance with pertinent safety standards. Ensures compliance with traffic laws, FMC laws, and common safe practices.
- Maintains a variety of records relating to inspections, maintenance activity, consumption of supplies and materials, etc.
- Required to work after-hours/ weekend duties including inclement weather situations with snow control operations, town event support, water main breaks, special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance done meets the standards for quality and safety.
