Civil - Staff Engineering Technician – Water (onsite Role)
Locations: Orlando, FL or Jacksonville, FL or Tampa, FL
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES:
· This opportunity with clients offers the chance to collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams within the Government & Communities Market Sector, supporting Water & Industrial Water projects and building critical infrastructure for today’s and tomorrow’s challenges. Civil professionals contribute to site development efforts, including grading and drainage, erosion control, roadways, fencing, and underground utilities.
· The Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) Staff Engineering Technician plays a key role in supporting the development of high-quality engineering deliverables for these complex infrastructure projects. Under general supervision, this position performs technical tasks requiring intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practices, with a focus on creating and modifying site development plans using industry standard design tools, such as Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation.
· Functions in a project engineering technician capacity.
· Under general direction, supports engineering and design teams by developing and modifying technical deliverables.
· Apply foundational engineering principles and established design practices to create moderately complex design concepts and solutions.
· Utilizes digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.
· Provides technical guidance and may offer directions to other engineering professionals and technicians to ensure quality and consistency across project outputs. Skills:Required:
· Advanced Civil 3d experience is required with the use of pipe/pressure networks, proposed grading surfaces and plan/profile development.
· Must be familiar with plan & profiles, alignments, pipe networks and grading.
· Applies knowledge of standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, applicable codes and CLIENT policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· May review project requirements and accurately determine the correct format and contents of the required deliverables.
· Proactively applied CLIENT Quality Program to deliverables. Demonstrates personal accuracy and supports continuous improvement and change management efforts.
· Reviews design inputs in order to ensure consistency. Assists to ensure deliverables are in compliance with the specific codes and standards suitable for the project.
