The Cable Services Supervisor oversees broadcast and livestream operations for Fort Worth TV, including City Council meetings and other City of Fort Worth programming. This position serves as the lead technical director for all live and recorded productions and provides audio/video support for meetings across City facilities. The Supervisor ensures proper operation and maintenance of broadcast and livestream equipment and distribution, and coordinates repairs and upgrades to technical systems such as the studio, control room, data center, and council chambers.
This role also manages channel scheduling, playback automation, and content archiving for the City’s cable channels and website. The Supervisor works closely with the FWTV Manager to improve workflows, support new initiatives, and ensure consistent, high-quality public programming.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in communications, Film/Television Production, Broadcast Technology, or a related field
- Four (4) years of video or broadcast production experience
- One (1) year of administrative or lead supervisory responsibility
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in communications, Film/Television Production, Broadcast Technology, or a related field
- Five years of video or broadcast production experience
- Two years of administrative or lead supervisory responsibility
- Valid Texas Driver's License
The Cable Service Supervisor job responsibilities include:
- Serve as the lead technical director for all Fort Worth TV live and recorded broadcasts, including City Council meetings and public meetings.
- Provide technical support for audio/video systems, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting of all broadcast and livestream equipment.
- Supervise broadcast and production staff, including scheduling, assigning duties, training, workflow oversight, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain weekly programming schedules for cable channels, livestream platforms, and the city website.
- Monitor live and on-demand broadcasts to ensure consistent service quality, proper signal flow, and adherence to broadcast standards.
- Oversee equipment maintenance, inventory, and repairs, coordinating with vendors, IT, and cable providers for service, upgrades, and system reliability.
- Assist in planning and implementing technical improvements, equipment upgrades, and infrastructure enhancements in collaboration with the FWTV Manager.
- Manage cable channel playback automation, ensuring accurate scheduling, metadata, and delivery of both live and recorded content.
- Maintain archives and ensure long-term storage of City video content.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in the Department and City attendance policies and procedures; ensures all behaviors comply with the City’s Personnel Rules and Regulations.
