Clinical Research Scientist I – Remote

As stewards of a vast data- and knowledge-base, Ambry believes in leading and participating in research projects with a goal of improving the field of genetics and the lives of the patients we serve. The successful Clinical Research Scientist’s main role in fulfilling this goal is to conduct and facilitate research projects that are both self-initiated and driven as well to support collaborations in partnership with members of other Ambry scientific departments and with external collaborators who use Ambry data and expertise.

The Clinical Research Scientist I is responsible for supporting Ambry’s strategic research roadmap and elevating our research presence in the greater genetics community. With guidance from managers, the Clinical Research Scientist I is expected to ideate and execute research projects of their own as well as in collaboration with scientists across Ambry’s clinical teams and with researchers outside of Ambry. The Clinical Research Scientist I will also work closely and cross-functionally with other members of the Clinical Research team, the Clinical Strategy Managers and the Ambry’s Field Teams to identify, vet and prioritize research projects. By using their scientific and research expertise and knowledge of Ambry data they will influence the study design, determine the feasibility and resource requirements, and gauge the value, quality, and appetite for proposed research projects. They will foster relationships with our internal and external collaborators; ensure the responsible use and interpretation of data; and engender accountability for project timelines. The Clinical Research Scientist I is responsible for the progress and quality of the research projects in their research portfolio. The ideal candidate will have enhanced knowledge of clinical genetics, especially in the rare disease space and awareness and/or experience with GeneMatcher Exchange. In addition, a sophisticated ability with applied statistics is highly valued.
