Job Purpose:

The Data Solutions Business Analyst works with IM leadership, as well as IT and Business personnel, to support complex data initiatives in accordance with PMO standards and procedures. This role ensures project success, compliance, and quality through expert-level business analysis, with a strong emphasis on data-driven solutions, modern integration practices, and governance.

Essential Functions:

  • Initiates and implements continual improvement processes within the Business Analysis discipline.
  • Reviews and critiques existing standards and documentation; recommends and implements improvements.
  • Provides business analysis within the framework of the Holman project management methodology, processes, tools, and governance structures.
  • Captures project business requirements via interviews, business process reviews, and evaluation of existing systems and documentation.
  • Creates and maintains accurate and detailed requirements, scopes of work, functional specifications, and associated documentation based on Holman project standards.
  • Participates in the change control process.
  • Identifies and reports on risks and issues, and provides actionable recommendations.
  • Determines system scope and interfaces; maps out related requirements.
  • Plans and executes first-level testing based on requirements/scope, including test plan development and coordination of test participants.
  • Acts as a liaison between business units, technology teams, and support teams to foster collaboration.
  • Develops training procedures and conducts user training.
  • Works directly with the project team throughout the project lifecycle to ensure successful delivery and implementation.
  • Conducts post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and SDLC methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of business analysis principles and the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Ability to interpret and contribute to technical designs and specifications.
  • Strong communication and interviewing skills to elicit and document business requirements.
  • Deep understanding of the full project lifecycle, project standards, and methodologies.
  • Expert knowledge of system testing and software quality assurance best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong analytical skills to gather, interpret, and document complex business processes.
  • Ability to make effective decisions under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Commitment to staying current on business analysis methodologies.

Additional Technical Skills (Required):

  • Azure SQL Database:
  • Ability to write and optimize SQL queries for data analysis and validation.
  • Understanding of Azure Data Services and integration with enterprise systems.
  • Familiarity with data modeling and performance tuning in cloud-based environments.
  • API Design and Integration:
  • Understanding of RESTful API principles and best practices.
  • Ability to define API requirements, including endpoints, payloads, and authentication.
  • Experience collaborating with developers on API design, testing, and documentation.

Other Requirements:

  • College degree and at least 6 years of business analysis experience.
  • Agile\SCRUM Certification
