Job Description
AECOM is looking for a Senior Specialist to join the Global Communications team and contribute to the development and execution of key strategic communications campaigns that support the success of operational goals, strengthen our company’s culture and ensure our people are connected and informed.
Reporting to the Director, Operations Communications, the Senior Specialist will work across global regions and business lines to advance key strategic programs and enterprise-wide initiatives, including but not limited to the ongoing implementation of Sustainable Legacies, AECOM’s ESG strategy, and the advancement of AECOM’s digital strategy, with a specific focus on internal digital adoption.
The position requires an individual with the ability to closely collaborate with internal stakeholders across communications, marketing, finance, legal, HR and other operational groups. The role also demands strong project management capabilities, a passion for learning, and a strategic point of view that aligns with AECOM’s goals.

This position will be based in either Los Angeles, CA or Dallas, TX and offers flexible work options for hybrid work schedules including a combination of both remote / virtual and in-office presence.
Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with regional and business line communications teams to accelerate implementation of Sustainable Legacies, AECOM’s ESG strategy.
- Drive internal adoption of new ways of working – and delivering work – aligned with Digital AECOM’s strategic priorities.
- Provide communications support for key operational initiatives relating to Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E), Ethics & Compliance and IT/Cybersecurity.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to drive consistency across communications.
- Assess and monitor organizational climate through networking, stakeholder management and employee listening.
- Measure effectiveness and impact of campaigns and communications.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field and at least 4 years of professional, employee communications-related experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Experience with turning complex information into relevant, engaging, timely and valuable content is essential
- Experience writing for a diverse audience with multiple types and channels.
- Proven track record of success in employee communications and ability to design and execute ideas: plan, develop, communicate, benchmark, track, measure, etc.
- Current on communications best practices and emerging employee engagement techniques and trends.
- Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously and to work autonomously.
- Consultative, service-oriented mindset and collaborative problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working for a similarly large, complex, global organization
- Team player with excellent listening skills and diplomacy; willingness to work with various different colleagues on a variety of initiatives.
