Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking a Corrections Industry Supervisor to work at the Vandalia Correctional Center. This position coordinates the operations of the Department of Labor Apprenticeship, Heavy Equipment/CDL Training, and Recycling/Reclamation Program. They are responsible for instructing and directing Individual in Custody students in the proper use of tools, equipment, and materials utilized in the Heavy Equipment/CDL Training, Gardening/Urban Agriculture Program. Essential Functions

Supervises staff.
Instructs individuals in custody students in the proper use of tools, equipment, and materials utilized in the Heavy Equipment/CDL Training, Gardening/Urban Agriculture Program, and Recycling/Reclamation Program.
Coordinates the operations of the Department of Labor Apprenticeship, Heavy Equipment/CDL Training, and Recycling/Reclamation Program.
Acts as staff assistant to Industry Superintendent (Public Service Administrator) in the overall operation.
Reports infractions of rules in accordance with Administrative Directives.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
