Are you passionate about renewable energy and eager to gain hands-on experience in hydrogen technology? Nel Hydrogen is seeking a motivated Summer Intern to join our Technology Department and support the development and characterization of next-generation OER electrodes.

About the Role
As a Summer Intern, you will support the development of roll-to-roll (R2R) manufacturing processes by evaluating ink processing conditions and rheology. You will work to optimize ink formulations for alternative catalysts, conduct instrumental analysis, and perform in-cell operational testing. Your work will directly support production release and contribute to fulfilling tasks under a Department of Energy contract.
Key Focus Areas:
- Perform dynamic light scattering characterization
- Measure ink viscosity to evaluate process conditions
- Conduct bench-coating using R&D scale equipment
- Test new electrode compositions at 25 cm² scale
- Perform post-operational analysis to assess degradation and performance
Background and Desired Competencies:
- Undergrad or graduate in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science
- Experience with Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS)
- Hands-on experience with electrochemical devices
- Strong skills in test planning and data presentation
