Yoncalla School District seeks qualified applicants for the Temporary position of Elementary One-on-One Elementary Instructional Assistant to begin in the 2026-27 school year.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Pay Rate: $16.56 - $19.17 per hour
Hours/Days: 26 hours per week /4 days per week / 165 days

JOB SUMMARY
The 1:1 Instructional Assistant provides individualized academic, behavioral, and personal support to a student with identified needs under the direction of the special education teacher, classroom teacher, and administration.


DUTIES
This not an exhaustive or all-inclusive list of responsibilities, skills, duties, or functions associated with the job. 

  • Provide one-on-one instructional, behavioral, and social-emotional support throughout the school day.
  • Implement accommodations, modifications, behavior support plans, and instructional strategies as directed by the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) and supervising staff.
  • Assist the student in accessing classroom instruction while promoting independence whenever possible.
  • Prepare and provide specialized meals and snacks in accordance with medical, dietary, and safety requirements.
  • Support the student with daily routines, transitions, organization, and classroom participation.
  • Maintain accurate daily documentation, including academic progress, behavior data, health-related information, and other required logs.
  • Communicate regularly and collaborate with the classroom teacher, special education teacher, administration, related service providers, and other staff to ensure consistent implementation of student supports.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and information in accordance with district policy and applicable state and federal laws.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that support the educational program and the needs of the student.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent or 1 to 2 years' related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Prior successful experience working in a school setting or with children strongly preferred.
