Position Type: Full-time

Location: Multiple VA facilities, including:

• Hinesville VA Clinic, 500 East Oglethorpe Highway, Hinesville, GA 31313
• Savannah VA Clinic, 1170 Shawnee St., Savannah, GA 31419

Job Description

• Provide skilled nursing care to patients in Acute Care, Primary Care and Specialty Clinics settings
• Prepare, administer, and document actions related to medications (oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and/or intravenous) as permitted by facility policies
•  Monitor and document patient responses to medications and treatments
•  Interact professionally with patients, family members, and healthcare team members
•  Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (CPRS)
•  Follow all VA policies, safety standards and procedures
•  Participate in patient education and care coordination
•  May be required to work with COVID-19 positive patients and PUIs
•  Comply with all infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Graduate of a state-approved school of practical/vocational nursing
• Current unrestricted LPN license from any US state
• Current BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
• Minimum 2 years of current experience (must have worked within last 6 months) in primary care or specialty clinic setting
• Proficiency in electronic medical records systems
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
• Must pass required background check and drug screening
• Required immunizations including COVID-19 vaccine (or approved exemption)
• Must complete VA-required training upon hire
