Whisker is based in Auburn Hills, Michigan and Juneau, Wisconsin with 700+ passionate team members. We work in person 4+ days a week.


What You’ll Do:

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for coordinating the efforts of their assigned associates, ensuring that material is safely and properly received, stored, and delivered to the appropriate consumption points in a timely manner.  This role may also act as a backup to the other warehouse leadership team members whenever needed.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

  • Leads a team in the Warehouse (receiving) department to ensure product is replenished to the production area and loaded/unloaded from trucks
  • Works with other Leads, associates, and departments in a respectful manner to help solve various issues
  • Performs equipment inspections, follows and enforces safety policies, and performs in a manner that sets a good example for others
  • Assists other departments with incoming and outgoing material
  • Fills in for fellow Warehouse Facilitators when they are on vacation or otherwise off-site
  • Helps perform inventory cycle counts throughout the year and participates in physical inventory events
  • Participates in daily and weekly meetings within the department 
  • Works with the understanding that there is an approximate 50/50 split in responsibilities
  • Evaluates the department plans and goals, ensuring that associates are set up accordingly
  • Prepares, plans, and carries out work schedules, rotations, and line-ups as well as assigns associates to the necessary tasks/areas, ensuring continuous and efficient productivity
  • Effectively communicates with other departments to ensure that objectives are achieved
  • Assists in the training of new associates to established methods to ensure standardized processes are followed
  • Facilitates concise and clear communication with the associates to aid in associate buy-in
  • Analyzes bottlenecks and aids in the cross-functional investigations that should lead to the elimination of ineffective processes
  • Works alongside the Supervisor to facilitate a smoothly run shift wherein department objectives are met
  • Understands the appropriate use of email and electronic communications and utilizes them according to policy
  • Effectively communicates needs and issues with appropriate parties as they arise
  • Notifies the Supervisor, HR, and appropriate management of any safety, behavior, or performance issues
  • Will perform additional responsibilities when required 

Requirements

What You’ll Bring:

  • Become certified to operate all power equipment within 60 days through Whisker's internal program
  • Effectively contributes to a positive work environment and culture

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in other areas and departments as needed
  • Ability to create and promote a safe and healthy work environment 
  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment with numerous interactions and interruptions
  • A high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to motivate others
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Team Members and colleagues
  • Comfortable with office pets (cats, dogs)

Not Required but Nice to Have!

  • People Leadership experience
  • Shipping and Warehouse experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with SAP or ERP
  • Exposure to G-Mail, Google Sheets, Docs, and Calendar
