Role description:

The candidate will be an integral member of the Global Markets Structured Lending Investment Team. The investment team works on evaluating and approving structured lending and capital markets transactions across the Global Markets and Investment Banking businesses at Nomura. They cover transactions across all asset classes including Real Estate/Mortgages, Infrastructure, Corporate Credit / CLOs, Private Equity, Trade Receivables, Emerging Markets, and Structured Credit. 

The candidate will have responsibility for “front to back” evaluation of complex trades for senior management consideration. Role will include fundamental credit analysis, client meetings, structural risk consideration, enforcement risk assessment, and reputational risk assessment. Key skill for success is active learner that can distill content across a range of asset classes, work within team-based construct and present to management.  Data management and modeling a plus. Candidate should have strong communication skills, ability to learn and adapt in a fast paced environment, and manage responsibilities independently.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct fundamental investment analysis on complex transactions across asset classes
  • Participate in transaction review from initial stage including client meetings, due-diligence, structural factors, reputational and legal considerations, legal enforcement
  • Take investment views on transaction risk reward and present views to senior management
  • The candidate should be comfortable with fairly substantial transactional due diligence travel inside and outside US

 

Desired Candidate Profile:

  • 4-8 years of relevant experience in capital markets.
  • Ideal candidate would be passionate about fundamental investment assessment with willingness to develop broad product expertise
  • Confidence to work in team based approach
  • Solid business writer – ability to distill and simplify complex topics
