Significance is seeking an Accounting Manager to support the Office of Performance, Planning, and the Chief Financial Officer (OPPCFO) of the Small Business Administration in Denver, CO. These roles are contingent upon contract award and the work is expected to be performed on a hybrid basis (part onsite, part telework). In this role you will:• Develop or support SBA loan program requirements and modifications to existing program requirements. • Provide expert advice on Federal Credit Reform Act accounting. • Automate current business processes where applicable with documentation. • Strengthen accounting analysis and proforma development with documentation on process, rationale, or other supporting background. • Develop and issue overall accounting policy that falls outside of the Programmatic and Administrative Accounting Divisions at the Denver Finance Center. • Ensure standard operating procedures and desk guides are current. • Provide support to various components within the program office environment, external Federal regulatory entities (Congress, OMB, Treasury, etc.,). • Support timely audit response activities and Provided By Client (PBC) document coordination. • Ensure audit remediation activities affecting accounting and financial reporting are addressed and implemented. • Assist SBA in regaining its unmodified audit opinion on the annual financial statements. • Ensure the quality assurance of the accounting of all SBA funds (both programmatic and administrative) to ensure the propriety of all financial data reported on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis according to continual Federal financial reporting and credit reform requirements.
Required Skills:• Active Public Trust security clearance (or ability to obtain)• At least 5 years of experience supporting SBA or similar federal entities in accounting, accounting analysis, audit remediation and support, and/or business process automation.• Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
Desired Skills:• Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license• Experience with the following: • Preparing briefing materials for senior leadership and external stakeholders. • Maintaining priority trackers and following up on open actions. • Assisting with process improvement across Acquisitions, Budget, Internal Controls, Audit, federal credit modeling. • Facilitating succession planning and training.
