Senior Marketing Cloud Engineer
SpliteroAbout the role
About the Job
As a Senior Marketing Cloud Engineer at Splitero, you will own Splitero’s Salesforce Marketing Cloud stack end-to-end in a fast-growing fintech and proptech environment. You will architect, implement, and optimize multichannel lifecycle journeys that span email and SMS, connecting Salesforce Sales Cloud, Data Cloud/Data 360, and analytics tools to drive measurable growth from lead through origination and post-funding. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Marketing stakeholders to ensure our messaging, tracking, and data foundations are robust, scalable, and directly tied to business outcomes.
- Design, build, and maintain lifecycle journeys in Salesforce Marketing Cloud using Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Contact Builder, and Data Extensions, covering the full funnel from lead through origination and post-funding.
- Own and evolve the architecture of Splitero’s Marketing Cloud implementation, including data models, subscriber management, and Marketing Cloud Connect with Salesforce Sales Cloud and Data Cloud/Data 360.
- Configure and optimize multichannel messaging (email and SMS) for both marketing and operational communications, ensuring deliverability, reliability, and consistency across campaigns and journeys.
- Use SQL within Marketing Cloud and Salesforce Data Cloud/Data 360 to design and manage data extensions, segmentation logic, and audience definitions that support personalized, event-driven campaigns.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Analytics to implement and refine tracking across GA4 and Salesforce/CRMA, co-owning online and offline events used for lifecycle analysis, experimentation, and optimization.
- Collaborate with a MarTech Product Manager and product analytics resources to translate lifecycle and growth requirements into robust technical implementations, including event schemas and data flows.
- Set up and maintain automations and data flows between Salesforce Sales Cloud, Data Cloud/Data 360, and Marketing Cloud using standard connectors and configuration, minimizing manual work and data discrepancies.
- Enforce governance across the Marketing Cloud ecosystem, including naming conventions, data contracts, folder structures, and documentation, to build a strong, maintainable foundation as the stack grows.
- Ensure all campaigns and automations adhere to standard marketing laws and best practices (CAN-SPAM, consent handling, unsubscribe logic), with an understanding of the considerations for financial products.
- Work in a remote, high-autonomy environment with a bias toward shipping MVP journeys and iterating based on data, while maintaining strong attention to detail in configuration and data quality.
- Constantly look for ways to innovate with AI technologies and evaluate new products and tools to improve homeowner experience and internal workflows.
The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $140,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
About You
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, with significant time spent in Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Contact Builder, and Data Extensions.
- Strong proficiency in SQL/SOQL for segmentation, querying, and shaping data within Marketing Cloud and Salesforce Data Cloud/Data 360.
- Demonstrated experience owning Marketing Cloud implementations end-to-end in an in-house role, preferably in SaaS, fintech, proptech, or similarly data-intensive B2C/B2B2C environments.
- Solid understanding of GA4 and Salesforce/CRMA, and how to use these tools to support data-driven decision making, funnel tracking, and continuous enhancement of lifecycle journeys.
- Ability to independently discover and design the right data flows and objects needed for campaigns and automations, without relying on others to scope data requirements for you.
- Experience with or exposure to tools such as Snowflake, PostHog, Fivetran, dbt, or n8n is a plus.
- Comfort working within a regulated financial context, with awareness of marketing best practices and considerations for consumer financial products.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to partner closely with product managers, engineers, analysts, and marketing stakeholders while operating as a high-accountability individual contributor.
- Candidates must be located in the United States. Working timezone in PST or MST preferred.
- Ability to break down complex technical problems and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Desire to participate in fast-paced early-stage startup
- Team-Oriented: Prioritizes collaboration, inclusivity, and teammate support
