Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA is hiring a clinical lab assistant - phlebotomy to work part time days in the central testing.

Job responsibility is to perform patient phlebotomy while maintaining the highest level of customer service. Collects, labels, and processes patient
specimens for testing; responsible for registration and test data entry. Monitors supply levels. Operates and maintains laboratory equipment; responsible for both internal and external customer inquiry and problem resolution. Frequent
interaction with hospital and physician offices staff. May perform EKG and operate glucometer.

Job requirements:

• High school education or equivalent
• Completion of a Phlebotomy course (preferred)
• 1 year of phlebotomy experience.

Job Summary

Labels, processes, and distributes patient specimens for testing; responsible for registration and test data entry. Monitors supply levels in specimen processing area. Operates and maintains laboratory equipment; responsible for both internal and external customer inquiry and problem resolution. Frequent interaction with hospitals, nursing facilities, and physician office staff.

1 year healthcare experience preferred

Qualifications:

HS - High School Grad or Equivalent (Required)
