WABCO Compressor Manufacturing Co. seeks a Quality Engineering Lead for its offices in North Charleston, SC.
Job Description:
Lead the Charleston Quality team activities and supervise all quality department employees. Primary liaison between other departments, divisions, and business units. Provide support regarding customer issues through quality team and/ or directly with customer. Manage issue escalation activities, ensuring corrective actions are completed. Works to achieve overall quality objectives while reviewing team performance and ensuring cost-effectiveness of operations. Provides input to management for continuous improvement programs and business directives. Quality Responsible representative for the Charleston site. Responsible for assigning responsibilities and ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner. Responsible for completing performance reviews for direct reports. Assess and develop employee skills and training requirements. Responsible for reviewing department related safety yellow cards. Assist troubleshooting and problem solving of the equipment and/or process. Knowledge of part drawings and interpretation of the drawings. Maintain and facilitate all processes as required of quality management systems. Raise/ Implement suggestions and drive quality improvement activities. Quality support all manufacturing activities, either directly or indirectly. Other tasks as assigned. Domestic travel required 5 to 10% of the time.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related technical field plus 5 years of experience in a manufacturing of machining and assembly operations occupation.
The required experience must include:
- 5 years of experience with quality tools knowledge in APQP, FMEA, MSA;
- 5 years of experience with manufacturing of machining and assembly operations;
- 5 years of experience with basic blueprint and GD&T knowledge; and
- 5 years of experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
OR
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related technical field plus 3 years of experience in a manufacturing of machining and assembly operations occupation.
The required experience must include:
- 3 years of experience with quality tools knowledge in APQP, FMEA, MSA;
- 3 years of experience with manufacturing of machining and assembly operations;
- 3 years of experience with basic blueprint and GD&T knowledge; and
- 3 years of experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Any and all experience may be gained concurrently.
