Senior Program Manager

The Colorado Health Institute (CHI) seeks a dynamic and innovative senior program manager to join a team of professionals who are highly dedicated to improving the health of all Coloradans.

Responsibilities include:

• Oversee and provide direction for multi-stakeholder projects:
  • Accountable for all project aspects including proposal and scope/budget development, role staffing and project design, execution, quality control, ongoing budget management, and client satisfaction.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders from human services, public health, philanthropic, government and business communities, among others.
  • Manage overall timeline and schedule for project activities.
  • Facilitate meetings in person and by phone/webinar.
  • Manage client engagement and communication via regular email and phone updates.
  • Coordinate community-wide forums and key informant interviews within the metro Denver region although some statewide activities may be required.
  • Work with the Managing Director of Research, Evaluation and Consulting and project leads, if applicable, to discuss strategic vision and planning for each project.
  • Maintain internal communication between the project team, the communications team, and others to facilitate project objectives.
• Manage project portfolios and advise on and implement staffing and timing adjustments as needed in consultation with the Managing Director of Research, Evaluation and Consulting.
• Recognized as an expert in a health-related subject or content area.
• Develop and oversee project-wide administration processes that may include:
  • Creating a charter, work plan, decision-making structure, and other documents necessary for successfully running each project.
  • Creating program-wide communications, including presentations, supporting materials, file-sharing sites, and email distributions.
  • Ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and reporting deadlines to external entities.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Operations and the Accounting/Finance Team, overseeing budgets, fiscal management, and reporting compliance.
  • Developing and maintaining a system for notetaking/capturing information and disseminating materials and information for regular meetings.
  • Monitoring project efficacy through regular evaluations and reports.
• Maintain a limited portfolio of clients and external partners to identify and secure business opportunities in current and new markets, with a special focus on growing CHI’s strategic initiatives. This includes leading development of proposals as needed.
• Support the growth and development of team members including:
  • Provide strategic leadership, coordination, and direction for CHI’s Program Manager and Analyst Team.
  • Provide time-limited coaching support for research analysts or other staff members as needed.
  • Lead an internship process in consultation with Directors.

• Comfort being a self-starter, working in situations that involve substantial ambiguity and/or limited guidance and oversight.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects of various sizes and associated deliverables.
• Prior experience managing external contracts, including regular evaluation activities.
• Prior experience coordinating internal staff teams and ensuring clarity on roles and deadlines.
• Prior experience with community building, human services, and public health activities.
• Strong interpersonal and team-based skills.
