Job Description
The Sr User Experience (UX) Designer is responsible for strategizing with product management, and creating compelling, innovative designs that demonstrate the value of our ISO / Verisk products. This professional works with stakeholders to define success, conceptualize, and design prototypes, customer mappings, and usability test innovative products to ensure customer delight. The Sr UX Designer is also responsible for the maintenance of design guidelines used across the ISO platform and products ensuring consistency of the Verisk brand.
- Make understanding our customers a constant priority, including activities such as:
- Design Thinking
- Jobs-to-be-done
- User problems and pain point theming
- Use Case and Scenario analysis
- Work/Task Flow development
- Experience / Journey mapping
- High & Low Fidelity Prototyping
- Work closely with Key Stakeholders such as Corporate Marketing and CX Teams to ensure a consistent user experience for our customers
- Work in cross-functional teams, especially with Engineering and Product Management, to plan, prioritize, and deliver information architecture, visual design assets, and layouts to support a cohesive user experience
- Design prototypes (Whiteboard/Paper, Low Fidelity Concepts, and Interactive High Fidelity)
- Facilitate and lead usability testing
- Collaborate with Product Owner and User Analytics to develop informed design decisions for defining success
- Design and document branded design patterns to develop a visual design system for re-use across the ISO Platform
- Participate and provide UX Leadership in all scrum ceremonies for assigned product team(s)
- Document, review, and present all UX artifacts with key stakeholders to provide insights and gain approvals
- Provide coaching and mentorship to the ISO Experience Design Team
- Perform additional UX duties as required to support ISOnet applications and customers
Qualifications
- Degree in Human Centered Design, Visual Communications, Graphic Design or related, and 6+ yrs. equivalent UX work experience (Bachelor's minimum)
- Exceptional knowledge in Design Hierarchy, Information Architecture and Usability Evaluation methodologies establishing interactive branded interfaces such as web apps, mobile devices, presentations and other digital formats.
- Proven track record of developing and delivering successful, intuitive, and compelling design solutions
- Lives and demonstrates the human-centered design principles as well as software development processes.
- Advocates and practices the Design Thinking Framework and it's use to solve complex problems
- Strong understanding of interactive web technologies and experience designing solutions leveraging such trends
- HTML, Javascript (Angular JS), CSS (Bootstrap)
- Must have experience using the following software:
- Axure RP Pro (InVision, Adobe XD, FramerX are a plus)- any of these would be great. Axure preferred.
- Figma (Sketch & Zeplin are a plus)
- Adobe CC Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, etc.)
- Experience with facilitation and collaboration tools:
- MS Teams, JIRA, Confluence
- Miro (Virtual Whiteboard) is a plus
