THIS IS A GRANT FUNDED POSITION
JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of research faculty in Ophthalmology, Research Technician 2 works to better understand the pathology of retinal degenerative diseases using in vitro and in vivo models. This position performs analysis of tissue structure, generation of new databases, and mining of existing databases.
- Performs analysis of tissue images for downstream AI analysis.
- Performs annotation of elements in individual images.
- Programs models to analyze images.
- Generates database and mining of existing databases.
- Prepares manuscript.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in one of the Sciences. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: OR a combination of college coursework and work experience to equal four (4) years.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Experience with annotation of tissue sections needed for the creation of a database of optic nerve phenotypes.
- Knowledge of ophthalmic disease and health.
WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work weekends and evenings.
