Walmart Global Tech is seeking a talented and experienced Staff Data Scientist specializing in Pricing Algorithms to lead our efforts in developing sophisticated pricing models and strategies. As a Staff Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in driving innovation and optimizing revenue through the application of advanced statistical and machine learning techniques. You will work with a team of data scientists and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement pricing algorithms that maximize profitability and drive business growth.

With a diverse blend of expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and retail operations, our team pioneers innovative solutions across the merchandising lifecycle, from demand forecasting and assortment planning to pricing optimization. What you'll do:

  • Develop Pricing Models: Design, develop, and implement advanced pricing models using statistical and machine learning techniques such as regression analysis, demand forecasting, and optimization algorithms.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights related to customer behavior, market dynamics, and competitive pricing strategies.
  • Algorithm Development: Develop and refine algorithms for dynamic pricing, segmentation, and personalized pricing recommendations to maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Model Evaluation: Evaluate the performance of pricing models through rigorous testing, validation, and iteration to ensure accuracy, reliability, and robustness.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, marketing, and sales to understand business requirements, prioritize initiatives, and drive the implementation of pricing strategies.
  • Monitoring and Optimization: Continuously monitor the performance of pricing models in real-time and make adjustments as necessary to respond to changing market conditions, customer preferences, and business goals.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Document methodologies, findings, and recommendations in clear and concise manner. Generate reports and presentations to communicate insights and recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Stay Current: Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in pricing analytics, data science, and machine learning to drive innovation and continuous improvement.



What you'll bring:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in data science, machine learning, and statistical analysis, with a focus on pricing optimization.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala for data analysis and model development.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manipulate, interpret, and derive insights from large datasets.
  • Experience with machine learning libraries/frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, or Spark ML.
  • Solid understanding of pricing concepts, methodologies, and strategies in retail, e-commerce, or related industries.
