Job Summary:
The Associate Director of Supply Chain will be accountable and responsible for the manufacture and inventory control of Supernus commercial products via multiple third party manufacturing facilities. The primary function of the position will be to manage ongoing performance of multiple suppliers for both existing and new technologies and products. The incumbent will collaborate on a daily basis with several functional areas with substantial focus on QA/QC, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to develop, manage, and enhance relevant processes to ensure balance of supply and demand in short, mid, and long term. The incumbent will also partner closely with third party suppliers, 3PL, and other service providers at all stages of the Supply Chain to build and maintain effective and efficient order and inventory management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides primary point of contact for day-to-day decision making and elevation /resolution from both Supernus and external organizations.
- Directs activities at 3rd party suppliers in order to produce required semi-finished and finished products.
- Develops, approves, and implements production plans and schedules. Tracks progress and expedites as required.
- Ensures 3rd party suppliers are working in compliance with approved contracts and agreements.
- Establishes and maintains adequate safety stocks of materials, components, and products as required.
- Reconciles inventories at 3rd parties monthly and report results.
- Initiates Purchase Orders and reviews and approves invoices.
- Participates and leads monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings.
- Develops and maintains ERP and inventory control system.
- Provides senior management timely, reliable, and well-structured information regarding supplier performance including tracking of KPI’s, variance analysis, and contingency plans for corrective measures.
- Ownership and understanding of all Supernus products, processes and technologies.
- Participates in product development and commercial launch teams.
- Develops scorecards for 3rd party suppliers and monitor achievements of agreed upon goals.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership and management in an effective manner consistent with Company Values towards defined Corporate Objectives.
- Understands Company Policy and procedure to be able to guide direct reports appropriately.
Knowledge & Other Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in managing commercial Supply Chain in the Pharmaceutical, Biotech or Medical Device industry.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
- Demonstrated evidence of project management, analytical, planning and execution capabilities.
- Experience in managing external manufacturing or packaging operations.
- Hands on experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotech or Medical Device manufacturing management highly desired.
- An understanding of S&OP methodology.
- Highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills with experience in conflict resolution and negotiations.
- Proven ability to make independent and objective decisions with minimal direct supervision.
