Description

GENERAL INTRODUCTION:

The Archbishop, visible principle of unity in his archdiocese, is called to build up the particular Church unceasingly in the communion of all its members, and to ensure that their diverse gifts and ministries, in union with the universal Church, serve to build up all the faithful and to spread the Gospel. (Apostolorum Successores 8).  He must take care that all the affairs which belong to the administration of the whole archdiocese are duly coordinated and are ordered to attain more suitably the good of the portion of the people of God entrusted to him.” (Apostolorum Successores 177).

 

Each position employed in the Chancery helps to extend the ministry of the Archbishop in particular ways as outlined in the position description.

 

GENERAL SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL PURPOSE:

This position provides support to the CYO Athletic Director and Assistant Athletic Director through tasks associated with daily planning, coordinating, and operational aspects of the CYO athletic program to ensure the fulfillment of the goals, policies, and mission of the CYO office, as well as the those of the Archdiocese of Seattle and the universal Church.

 

ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES:

 

  1. Participates with other CYO staff members in implementing the mission of the department. This may include planning and implementing the department’s programs and services. This includes participating in staff meetings and supporting other areas of the department as requested by the CYO Director.
  2. Assists Director in communicating information to parish and school leadership, coaches and volunteers. This involves online communications through the website and social media and participation and facilitation of trainings, parent workshops, meetings and events, developing agendas and taking meeting minutes. Will be required to work some evenings and/or weekends throughout the year.
  3. Assists with planning, scheduling, and execution of CYO athletic games, tournaments, training sessions, and events. Will be required to attend and assist with various evening and weekend CYO events.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

 

1. Primary

a. Willingness and ability to support the mission of the Church by extending the ministry of the Archbishop.

b. Willingness and ability to support the goals and mission of the CYO Athletic program: CYO Athletics is sports done a different way – as one community. Individuals and teams strive for greatness in accordance with Gospel values. 2. Education:

  1. High School Diploma or GED required. Additional education preferred but not required.  

 

3. Experience:

  1. Knowledge of and experience in youth sports/athletics.
  2. Demonstrated successful experience working with people with various economic, racial and cultural backgrounds.
  3. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel and Out
