AT&T Labs Network Automation and Analytics Organization is seeking passionate and talented technical leaders to join our team. The individual filling this position will be a highly skilled and innovative application & video expert with a strong background in networking. As such, candidates must demonstrate a track record of novel solutions in the form of products, open-source projects, utilities, and/or peer-reviewed research publications. Expertise in one or more areas including cellular technology, video delivery, AR/VR, mobile app development and instrumentation is a must. Candidates must possess experience and significant skills in software engineering and development, big data technologies to process and draw insights from large volumes of data, and machine learning. Finally, the candidate must also have a collaborative spirit and strong communication skills.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- This Principal Inventive Scientist will identify, design, implement and drive adoption of fundamental solutions focused on delivering good user experience while effectively managing network resources in cellular networks.
- The successful candidate will work with content providers, AT&T network and product teams, and world-class networking innovators to create, prototype, trial, and operationalize new concepts – driving them to operational reality.
- In addition, the candidate will drive advances in monitoring, measuring and managing application-level Quality of Experience (QoE) for both video and the broader set of applications that exist within both todays and future application ecosystem.
The person filling this position must:
- Demonstrate vision and technical leadership to define and drive potential solutions into the network and products.
- Work closely with internal and external business partners to identify opportunities and drive adoption.
- Work with other labs partners and cross-departmental teams to design and implement innovative solutions that scale across the spectrum of networks and services.
- Prototype, implement, experiment, simulate and demonstrate potential benefits of ideas.
- Socialize ideas and their value with internal and external partners.
- Communicate boldly and openly with partners, management and peers to educate them, share experiences and status, discuss ideas, and create new directions.
Required Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. or a Master's of Science degree in a relevant field from an accredited university with 2 to 6 years of relevant experience.
