The Clinical Director will support the Director of RHY Services and Supervisors in overseeing the daily implementation of services to Runaway, Homeless, and at-risk youth (RHY), youth who are survivors of trafficking, youth involved in the child welfare system and other vulnerable populations through the drop-in center. This position will provide clinical supervision of the Mental Health Hub Social Workers across both sites, Crisis Coordinator, and graduate school interns.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations, in conjunction with the RHY Supervisors, and ensure programmatic grant compliance and reporting is maintained.
- Provide direct supervision of the Social Workers at both Soho and Bronx locations, Crisis Coordinator, and potential interns.
- Continue the ongoing development and implementation of a clinical framework for screening, engaging, and supporting youth and young adults (up to age 24) with severe and persistent mental illnesses and/or who have a history or risk of homelessness, including mental health and psychiatric evaluations.
- Develop procedures and systems to provide clinical support to staff and interns; and other staff across agency as needed.
- Ensure accurate data collection and timely reporting to funders.
- Support interns in the thorough assessment of each young person and to develop service plans based on those assessments.
- Design and implement new programmatic activities in consultation with Managing Director of RHY &Supportive Housing and Director of RHY Services.
- Assist with the coordination and facilitation of case conferences across both sites, including staff from other program areas/agencies to determine appropriate plans for young people.
- Represent The Door at outside events and functions.
- Work as an active member of The Door’s Behavior Management Team (BMT) and attend all associated meetings.
- Provide de-escalation and crisis intervention as necessary.
- Participate in agency-wide and department staff meetings monthly, as well as all scheduled team meetings.
- Network with other agencies serving vulnerable youth and build linkages to help meet their needs.
- In collaboration with Managing Director of RHY &Supportive Housing, execute spending for all special population related grants within established budget limitations.
- Collaborate with other organizations to advocate for relevant policies for RHY and other vulnerable populations.
- Implement and support all agency policies and decisions as defined by management.
- Be available for weekend coverage of drop-in services in the absence of the RHY Supervisors (Soho/Bronx).
