About the role

The team

The Diagnostic Breast Imaging service is a new service that provides public diagnostic breast imaging to Tasmanians. Currently, it provides care to patients requiring diagnostic breast imaging as part of their public episode of care but will be expanded to include referrals from GPs for patients with symptoms.

The Role:

The Clinical Nurse Consultant – Diagnostic Breast Imaging (CNC-DBI) is responsible for providing a clinical consultancy service for the Diagnostic Breast Imaging service within an assigned area of specialty: Breast; developing standard of practice; implementing changes to clinical practice; educating staff and initiating research and quality improvement activities.

You will need:

  • Extensive post registration experience within the practice setting/specialty, ideally with at least 3 years of experience as a breast care nurse or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement and the ability to deliver quality patient care.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to provide advocacy, support, clinical assessment and referral.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for approximately six (6) months.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Holds, or working towards, relevant postgraduate tertiary qualifications

  • Post Graduate qualifications in breast cancer nursing, oncology, or palliative care

  • AHPRA Nursing Registration Division 1

  • Current Driver’s Licence
