Production Superintendent II

Job Description

Stepan is seeking a Production Superintendent II to join our Operations team in Winder, GA. In this role, you will report to the Plant Manager. The Production Superintendent II provides the Management of a production area by leading and coordinating Operations activities for EH&S, quality, and cost/productivity. They will perform operational, administrative, and logistical activities in support of the manufacturing of Stepan products.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage, report on, and plan the area’s open EH&S and PSCA assignments for timely and effective closure.
• Act as Project Start-up Leader for process changes (i.e. capital projects)
• Participate in or lead incident investigations.  Review and approve incident investigation findings and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with external (i.e. EPA, OSHA) agency or internal company standards
• Ensure EH&S work instructions, practices, and policies are strictly adhered to and
• Audit to ensure EH&S work instructions, practices, and policies are strictly adhered to

Qualifications

 

• 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing / chemical industry
• 5+ years of supervisory experience
• Developed communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to facilitate troubleshooting efforts and has solid comprehension of chemical processes and unit operations

Education

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering required
