About Construction Management - AECOM Tishman
Since 1898, AECOM Tishman has managed the construction of some of the world’s most iconic buildings. We employ a diversified preconstruction and construction management staff of structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers; architects; technology specialists; scheduling and cost control personnel; and construction estimators and accountants. We provide expert consultation and guidance in all phases of a building project, from master-planning, preconstruction options evaluation and decision-making, to design review, estimating, and scheduling, through procurement, construction and occupancy. AECOM Tishman’s staff manages all consultants and contractors on a project, representing client interests throughout the project cycle. In total, AECOM Tishman has built more than 900 million square feet – including the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, One World Trade Center in New York.
Job Description
AECOM Tishman is seeking an Assistant Superintendent with experience in Mechanical/Electrical interior construction to be based in New York, New York.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Assists the project Superintendent and Project Manager by performing a variety of tasks in support of construction activities. Duties may differ depending on the specialty area.
- Must hold all applicable licenses and/or certificates as required by governmental, regional, or project contractual requirements.
- Responsible for and ensures project safety compliance.
- Must be knowledgeable of applicable safety riders for area of responsibility.
- Activities may include inspection of engineering installations for compliance with specifications; maintaining project documentation.
- Relies on general to moderately complex knowledge of procedures, company policies, and business practices to plan and accomplish goals.
- At this level, incumbents normally can handle a wide range of relatively complex protocols; viewed as fully competent within limits of experience.
- Works under general supervision.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Associates degree + 2 years of relevant construction experience in mechanical/electrical or HS + 4 years of relevant construction experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working for a large general contractor.
- Previous relevant internship experience.
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, and Outlook), as well as exposure to other construction-based computer programs.
- Ability to work independently.
- Interaction with clients and the ability to communicate
- Experience with mechanical rooms, MEP, electrical, etc.

- This position requires driving responsibilities. Motor Vehicle Records will be reviewed as part of AECOM’s background check process to ensure compliance with the Company’s driving standards.
- Offered rate of compensation (New York locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly range for this position is $29.00 - $51.00/hr.
