ManTech seeks a motivated and customer-oriented Data Scientist to join our team in Bethesda, MD. This is a government on-site position.


In this role, you will collaborate with senior engineers and technicians on systems related to signal processing, vibration analysis, propulsion mechanics, and electrical and magnetic interference sources. The ideal candidate be eager to apply their skills in a dynamic and challenging work environment. This position provides an excellent opportunity to grow technically while supporting key projects for the U.S. Navy.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Data Collection and Preparation: Gather data from various sources, clean, and prepare it for analysis

  • Data Analysis: Explore datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and correlations using statistical methods and machine learning algorithms

  • Model Building: Create and evaluate predictive models to solve specific business problems

  • Communication and Visualization: Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders using clear and engaging data visualizations

  • Problem Solving: Identify business challenges, propose data-driven solutions, and implement them to improve decision-making

  • Technology: Use various programming languages (Python, R), databases, and data mining techniques

  • Must be willing to travel within the United States (up to 10%)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Analytics, or Mathematics or related field

  • 3+ years of relevant experience, which can include professional roles, internships, military service with applicable technical duties, or significant projects/coursework applying engineering principles to real-world scenarios, particularly in acoustics, signal processing, or related systems

  • 3+ years of experience with MATLAB, machine learning, SolidWorks, C++, and signal processing, gained through professional roles, academic projects, or relevant training

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Analytical and Statistical Skills: Proficient in statistical analysis, regression, and data mining techniques

  • Programming Skills: Strong programming skills in Python, R, or other relevant languages

  • Machine Learning: Knowledge of various machine learning algorithms and tec
