Your Responsibilities
As a Assistant General Counsel for John Deere World Headquarters located in Moline, IL, you will:
- Review and provide legal guidance for advertising, marketing, e-commerce, and communications materials.
- Provide legal guidance to support business development to negotiate, create and administer allied agreements and M&A activities.
- Provide legal guidance to support dealer/distributor channel teams regarding product distribution, pricing and go to market tactics.
- Provide contract development, negotiation and administration legal guidance to large corporate accounts, rental marketing accounts and Government Sales teams.
- Provide legal guidance to Government Affairs team to help determine how proposed legislation could impact Deere’s business and propose revisions to minimize potential impact.

What Skills You Need
- Prior knowledge of, and experience with, applying antitrust, advertising, distribution, dealer protection, contract and consumer protection laws.
- Prior experience counseling construction equipment and engine manufacturing businesses in antitrust compliance, product distribution, go to market tactics, and complex contract negotiation.
- Technical skills to independently negotiate, draft and administer complex contracts.
- Deep understanding of construction equipment and engine manufacturing businesses.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Litigation experience is beneficial to help counsel business on potential risks when managing the advertising issues, dealer/distributor network and/or negotiating, administering and/or amending contracts.
- Prior experience managing disputes in front of the National Advertising Division (NAD) and/or National Advertising Review Board (NARB).
- Prior experience with multidistrict litigation and/or government investigations.
Education
- Doctor of Jurisprudence degree and active license, in good standing, to practice law in Illinois, or ability to obtain an Illinois license.
