Our Finance team is looking for a Payroll Manager to join them. The incumbent will be working on U.S. and International payrolls as a member of the Finance department. This individual must have great attention to detail, be highly self-motivated and be able to interact professionally with employees, managers, and executives. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for overseeing timecards, managing new hires and terminations, processing manual checks and adjustments, auditing payroll process in Workday for accuracy and performing special projects as requested. The successful candidate should possess strong communication skills, have a team-oriented personality, and is adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
This is a hybrid role based out of our Los Angeles offices with the expectation that this person will be onsite 2-3 days per week.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Manage and complete the end-to-end payroll process, for 300+ employees (multi-state across the US and international), ensuring it meets speed and accuracy standards for multi-state salaried, hourly, and commissioned employees
Prepare all sales, business development, customer support and other departmental commissions and bonus calculations
Ensure all data is submitted to the payroll processing service by the submission deadline for all monthly payrolls (e.g. weekly, semi-monthly, off-cycle, etc.)
Communicates with the People Team to ensure the integrity of the payroll data including data related to new hires, terminations, transfers and rate changes and makes updates as necessary
Researches and resolves questions from managers and employees regarded processed payroll information such as time off, banking, garnishments, employment verification, workers compensation, retroactive pay calculations, tax questions, 401k, reimbursed expenses done through payroll and other changes
Processing of manual checks such as terminations and discrepancies in line with State requirements
Develop, document, and continuously improve payroll processes and procedures
Reconcile and prepare all W-2's and other year-end activities
Manage internal and external audits related to payroll and manage tax filings and related documentation
Prepare and file quarterly/annual payroll tax forms (i.e., Form 941)
Prepare payroll entries for posting to the general ledger and prepare payroll related account reconciliations and perform other month end close payroll activities
