The Senior Manager, AML Risk Assessment and Methodology is accountable for leading and driving the successful development, maintenance and implementation of the AML Program risk methodology that is used to assess Money Laundering/ Terrorist Financing and Sanctions Compliance risks across BMO Financial Group (BMOFG). This role will lead a team responsible for the development, oversight and change management activities of the AML Program risk methodology and establish frameworks to manage ML/TF and Sanctions risk for higher risk customer segments and geographies as well as ensuring AML program risk is appropriately assessed, managed, and monitored through other risk support areas (RSA) processes across BMOFG.  The role must constantly adapt to a changing internal and external environment, managing risk and regulatory exposure at an increased pace. 

Knowledge:

  • University education or relevant business experience

  • Demonstrated experience in AML and knowledge of industry trends

  • Strong knowledge of bank processes and products

  • CAMS designation preferred

Provides oversight, monitoring and reporting on financial crime risks for a designated portfolio. Develops and monitors risk management framework that includes the governance framework & practices leveraged across BMO to manage financial crime risks. Provides policies & standards, methodologies and controls that increase transparency, accuracy and consistency across groups. Works with stakeholders to implement the methodology, metrics and program standards for the assigned portfolio to ensure compliance as well as effective monitoring, timely reporting and identification of action plans.
