Director, Ancillary Clinical Applications

The Director, Ancillary Clinical Applications oversees assigned area to ensure it is performing effectively, which may include but not limited to, preparing and implementing business strategy to achieve the organization’s goals, ensuring legal compliance, communicating and collaborating with stakeholders, managing employment decisions and contributions of supporting team members, and managing departmental budget and fiscal success.Leads and directs key strategic development and functional services to support department objectives and divisional goals. Ensures compliance with internal policies, external laws/regulations and customer/team member satisfaction targets. Establishes and monitors quality assessment processes to ensure that quality improvement is measured and realized as a key goal of information systems. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with designated external and internal stakeholders. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversees assigned area to ensure it is performing effectively, which may include but not limited to, preparing and implementing business strategy to achieve the organization’s goals, ensuring legal compliance, communicating and collaborating with stakeholders, managing employment decisions and contributions of supporting team members, and managing departmental budget and fiscal success.
• Oversees the day to day operations of all security program services related activities. Organizes, monitors and coordinates all audit activities and associated remediation efforts.
• Achieves 95 percent compliance for timely/quarterly LDP reviews, staff performance appraisals and organizational performance reviews.
• Makes decisions based on the appropriate security technology and administrative controls necessary to safeguard data and systems.
• Responds promptly to requests from other departments within the operating unit and maintains cooperative relationship accordingly.
• Establishes performance expectations and provides direction, feedback and guidance to team members. Completes performance evaluations, team member relations and needed disciplinary activities.
• Develops and executes security business objectives, policies and strategic plans for information security services in support of the vision and mission of Inova Health System and Information Technology.
• Works closely with the SVP, CIO and CISO to manage department finances including budgeting, control of salary/non-salary and capital investment expenses.
• Coordinates and monitors the development of security strategy, the maturity of the security program and proactively identifies capital and operational budget requests.

Minimum Requirements:

• 5 years of IT management experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business or a related field.
• On-site requirement as needed/every 2 months

Preferred Qualifications:

• Healthcare experience highly preferred
• Epic Experience/Epic Certification (or obtained within the first 6 months)
• Product Management or agile certifications
