Senior Accountant

Description

The Senior Accountant position is responsible for the accurate preparation of financial reports in accordance with GAAP for The Evans Network of Companies (ENOC). This position analyzes financial data and presents information for management review.

Essential Job Duties

• Perform monthly close process; post journal entries and complete account reconciliations
• Maintain accurate financial records; perform audits and resolve discrepancies
• Ensure compliance with all company policy and procedures
• Document and monitor internal controls
• Maintain trailer accounting and compile budget to actual analysis
• Analyze and record expense for insurances enrolled by independent contractors
• Maintain accounting procedures and deductions for our national tire program
• Review and analyze our balance forward payees
• Compile a monthly and quarterly balance sheet fluctuation analysis
• Handle the collections process for payees
• Ad valorem tax preparation
• Compile, analyze, and report on financial data; present data to management

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years in an Accounting position
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a related field or equivalent level of prior experience
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles GAAP
• Demonstrated knowledge of auditing processes/practices
• Basic computer skills
• Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel)
• Demonstrated problem solving, analytical, and quantitative skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction 
• Experience meeting deadlines
